MYSIA, Pitane. 4th-3rd centuries BC. AR Hemiobol(?) (7mm, 0.33 g, 10h). Head of Zeus-Ammon right / Pentagram within shallow incuse square. SNG France –; SNG Ashmolean –; Head, HN p. 357; CNG E-287, lot 116; CNG 84, lot 615; Gorny & Mosch 200, lot 1664. Fine, patch of find patina, minor porosity. Extremely rare, only three in CoinArchives, missing from most collections.


Head cites a specimen in the BM, but that piece remains unpublished - it does not appear in the BMC volume on Mysia (1892), was not in any of the published acquisitions before Head wrote Historia Nummorum in 1911, and it does not appear in the online database of the BM collection.
