Head of Athena right, wearing crested helmet decorated with griffin; E behind neckguard / Thessalian cavalryman on horseback right, wielding lagobolon; small EΠI in exergue. Lavva 163 var. (V76/R– [unlisted rev. die]); BCD Thessaly I 1291 var. (no EΠI in exergue; same obv. die); BCD Thessaly II 651 var. (same; same obv. die); Gorny & Mosch 216, lot 2371 var. (EΠI under horse; same obv. die). Good VF, light roughness. Underlying luster. Very rare unpublished variant with EΠI in exergue.
