ARABIA, Southern. Himyar. 'Amdān Bayān Yahaqbiḍ. Circa AD 100-120. AV Unit (15mm, 2.07 g, 6h). Raydan mint. Male head right, with hair in long ringlets; monogram behind, interrupting beaded border / Small male head right;
‘mdn byn (king’s name in South Arabian) above, ‘scepter’ to right,
rydn (mint name in South Arabian) below. Cf. CAF 3.4i (for type in silver); Huth 436; cf. SNG ANS 1595 (same). Near EF, minor lamination flaw on obverse. Extremely rare in gold, possibly the second known.
