HUNNIC TRIBES, Kidarites. Uncertain ruler. 5th century. AR Dinar (37mm, 9.00 g, 3h). Boxlo (Balkh) mint. Kushano-Sasanian style figure (Vahram) standing left on ground line, wearing lotus crown with ribbons and surmounted by pomegranate, flames at shoulders, sacrificing at altar and holding trident; to left, trident standard above altar, middle prong surmounted by crescent; to right, square above tamgha and rosette / Herakles, laureate and wearing lion skin, standing right, holding club; to right, two trees, one with uncertain object at base to left. Unpublished in the standard references. . Good VF, spot of deposit on obverse, some deposits and small stress crack on reverse.
Sold as is. Most likely a contemporary counterfeit.
