LOMBARDS, Beneventum. Gisulf I. 689-706. AV Tremissis (15mm, 1.31 g, 6h). In the name of Byzantine emperor Tiberius III (698-705). D TIЬЄRI-ЧS PЄ ΛI, crowned bust facing, holding spear and shield / VICTO ΛςVV, cross potent; ς in left field; CONOB. Cf. CNI XVIII 13; BMC Vandals –; MIB III pl. 45, B2 = Tolstoi 44. Near EF, edge clipped. Fine style. Extremely rare.
