Dr. Adams wrote: “A common characteristic of Celtic decorative art is a face, often highly stylized, hidden within the design. This coin has a pair of hidden faces with the pellet-in-ring motif forming the eyes, the outline crescent the mouth, and the pellet forming the nose.”
