LESBOS, Mytilene. Circa 521-478 BC. Fourrée Hekte – Sixth Stater (10.5mm, 2.37 g, 6h). Head of ram right; below, cock standing left / Incuse head of lion left; rectangular punch behind. For prototype: cf. Bodenstedt Em. 11; cf. HGC 6, 936. Good VF, toned. Unusual fourrée with a layer of silver between the electrum and bronze core, visible in spots.
