IRAN, Qajars. Nasir al-Din Shah. AH 1264-1313 / AD 1848-1896. Restrike AV Medal (36mm, 28.73 g, 12h). Visit of the Shah to the Arsenal. Dated AH 1301 (AD 1883/4). Bust facing slightly right / Lion and Sun framed above by winged figures holding crown and below by arabesque design. Cf. Rabino di Borgomale pl. 44, 52 (for original strike). Choice EF, traces of underlying luster, light hairlines.
