SICILY, Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-405 BC. AR Tetradrachm (23.5mm, 17.60 g, 9h). Struck circa 430 BC. Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in both, driving slow quadriga right; above, Nike flying right, crowning horses with open wreath held in both hands / Head of Arethousa right, hair in sakkos ornamented by a maeander pattern, wearing earring and necklace; ΣYPAKOΣION and four dolphins around. Near EF, toned, some die wear on obverse.
