KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (22.5mm, 14.42 g, 5h). In the name and types of Philip II. Amphipolis mint. Struck circa 336-333/26 BC. Head of Zeus right, wearing laurel wreath / ΦIΛIΠ-ΠOY, nude youth, holding palm frond in right hand and rein in left, on horseback right; janiform head below raised foreleg. Le Rider 269a (D126/R230 – this coin, illustrated); SNG ANS 510 (same dies). Good VF, toned, slightly off center and light scuff on reverse.
