LOKRIS, Lokri Opuntii. Circa 350-340 BC. AR Stater (23.5mm, 12.30 g, 1h). Head of Persephone right, wearing wreath of grain ears, single-pendant earring, and pearl necklace, hair held by dotted band at nape of neck / Ajax, nude but for crested Corinthian helmet, holding sword in right hand, shield decorated with palmette and griffin on left arm, advancing right on rocks; OΠONTIΩN flanking; below, bent spear left. H&D Group 22, 160x (O26/R66) = Prospero 351 (this coin); BCD Lokris 72 (same obv. die); HGC 4, 991; SNG Copenhagen 42 (same dies); Bement 1026 (same obv. die); Nanteuil 884 (same dies). EF, lightly toned, a hint of die wear. Fine style.
