ANGLO-SAXON, Pale Gold Phase. Circa 650-675. Pale AV Thrymsa (12mm, 1..24 g, 11h). ’Two Emperors’ (Type II.T.v). Diademed bust right, crude legend around / Two small busts facing, holding two orbs between them; above, Victory with wings enfolding the figures. Sutherland 31–44; A&W Type V.xxvii, 373 = EMC 1990.1286 (this coin); SCBI 63 (BM), 30; Metcalf 79–80; North 20; SCBC 767 (this coin illustrated). EF, lightly toned. A superb specimen of high gold content.
