THRACE, Chersonesos. Circa 386-309 BC. Æ (25mm, 16.11 g, 6h). Uncertain magistrate. Artemis Parthenos left, striking stag lying left, with a spear she holds in her right hand, holding bow in her left / Bull butting left on horizontal club. Cf. SNG BM Black Sea 766-74 for type; cf. SNG Stancomb 474-81 for type. VF, dark green to black patina, some roughness.

An unusual variety that weighs about twice that of the normal Æ unit of this type, per the specimens in the BM and Stancomb collections. Also, this coin bears an obverse inscription and unpublished magistrate’s name.
