[SNG Lockett]. Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum. British Series. Volume III. The Lockett Collection. Parts 1-4. (London, 1938-1945). 48 plates with text opposite, cataloging and illustrating 2749 coins. Bound in matching brown card covers. An expansive collection noted for it’s quality and coverage. These volumes cover the coinage of Spain and Italy through Aeolis. The Lockett collection was sold by Glendinings in the 1950’s and these coins can be found on the market today, with Lockett pedigrees commanding a strong premium. This set lacks the fifth and final volume. Some shelf wear around the edges as to be expected, ans some minor tearing at the tops of a few of the spines, but overall fine copies.
