New Kingdom. 18th Dynasty. Thutmose III (1479-1425 BC). Steatite scaraboid (15x12mm). Back is carved with an elaborate
wadjet eye (“Eye of Horus”). Face depicts the cartouche of Thutmose III, sixth pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty, with a
maat (“truth”) and
uraeus (royal cobra) on either side. Collector’s tag attached. Scattered chips. Pierced. Cf. Rowe 495 for a similar face.
