Late Period. 26th-30th Dynasty. 664-332 BC. Blue glazed faience amulet of Tyet, symbol of Isis (22mm). The “girdle of Isis,” the Tyet symbol resembles knots worn around the waists of deities. It is also referred to as the “blood of Isis,” its protective power perhaps stemming from the menstrual flow of the goddess. Pierced for suspension. Petrie 88.
