Hematite cylinder seal. Syrian, Egyptianizing Style, circa 1500 BC. A complex scene of two nude women flanking a solar face above two lions standing facing each other. A bird on the back of one lion. To left, a pair of ba-birds flanking an ankh. Below, a nude man kneels to right. Plants devices serve as borders.
Height: 22mm. Intact. An attractive example, clearly engraved with sharp detail. Cf. Ashmolean 888 for similar use of flanking supplicants and ankh.
