ASIA MINOR, Uncertain (Ionia?). 1st-3rd centuries AD. PB Tessera (14.5mm, 2.97 g, 6h). The Charites (the Three Graces) standing, the left and right facing, the middle with back to view / Victory advancing right, holding palm frond over shoulder and wreath in outstretched hand; VM downward to left, NΩ upward to right. Cf. Gülbay & Kireç 53/11-2 (for obv./rev.). VF.

A curious feature of the ‘Ephesian’ lead tesserae series is the mixing and matching of types. Most pieces are unifacial and struck from only an obverse die, but some - such as the present coin - are found mixed with other obverse types as a reverse.
