PHOENICIA, Tyre. Uncertain king. Circa 425-394 BC. AR Quarter Shekel (15.5mm, 2.90 g, 9h). Melkart, holding bow in extended left hand and reins in right, riding hippocamp right; below, waves above dolphin right / Owl standing right, head facing; crook and flail diagonally in background. E&E-T Group II.1.1.2; Rouvier 1789; HGC 10, 324. Near EF, toned, slight roughness, scuff on reverse. Exceptional for issue, rare in this condition.
