OSTROGOTHS. Uncertain king. Circa 530-539. Æ 42 Nummi (28mm, 10.30 g, 5h). Countermarked early Imperial bronze issue. XLII (mark of value = 42 Nummi) cut into obverse of a Rome mint As of Galba with Victory reverse. For revaluation: COI –; cf. Morrisson, Re-use 19; cf. MEC 1, 69 (Libertas rev.). For undertype: cf. RIC I 508/510 (obv./rev.). Near VF, dark brown surfaces, some roughness.
