SICILY, Petra. 354/3-344 BC. Æ Litra (29mm, 27.60 g, 12h). Bearded head of Zeus Eleutherios right / Aphrodite seated right, playing with dove held in her right hand. Castrizio Series I, 1; Campana 1; CNS 1; HGC 2, 1097. Fine, dark green patina. Overstruck on a Syracusan drachm, Athena/Two dolphins, star (CNS 62), with the outline of the dolphins visible on the obverse, and the bowl of Athena's helmet visible on the reverse. Very rare.
