SICILY, Leontini. Circa 440-430 BC. AR Tetradrachm (23.5mm, 16.17 g, 9h). Laureate head of Apollo left / Head of roaring lion left in linear circle; four barley grains around. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 51 var. (same obv. die, no linear circle); HGC 2, 668 var. (same); SNG Ashmolean 1792 (same dies); Gemini VII, lot 126 (same dies). VF, toned, some roughness, traces of find patina, cleaning marks. Very rare with circle on reverse, one of only four in CoinArchives.
