EASTERN EUROPE, Imitations of Roman Republican. Geto-Dacians. After 136 BC. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.04 g, 10h). Imitating various prototypes, earliest being reverse of L. Antestius Gragulus. Highly stylized helmeted head of Roma right / Stylized Jupiter driving galloping quadriga right, hurling thunderbolt and holding reins and scepter. Davis Class A, Group II, M128 (this coin). For prototype: cf. Crawford 238/1 (rev.). Near VF, toned, area of flat strike, off center on obverse.
