EEDE EN VERBONDE GEBROOKEN ENT VUUR ALOMME AANGESTOOKEN (the oaths and treaties hath been broken and the fires hath been lit throughout...), the Chief Minister of France (Cardinal de Fleury) to left, pointing to a map with a baton; to right, the Electors of Saxony and Bavaria (Friedrich August II and Karl Albrecht) and the King of Poland (August III) pointing to areas on the map to which they believed they were entitled; the areas are marked: SAX (Saxony), SILES (Silesia), BAV (Bavaria), BOHEME (Bohemia), BYR, and OOSTENE (Austria) / DE PRAGMATIQUE SANCTIE BELOOFT EN NOU VANMYN ERVELANDE BEROOFT (...and the Pragmatic Sanction, once empowering me, now robs me of my inheritance), Maria Theresia seated left, holding the infant Josef (later Emperor Josef II) in her hands.
