ISLANDS off IONIA, Chios. Circa 490-435 BC. AR Didrachm – Stater (16mm, 7.80 g). Sphinx seated left; amphora to left / Quadripartite incuse square. Mavrogordato 16; HGC 6, 1118; Boston MFA 1945–6; Jameson 1521; Kraay & Hirmer 606. Good VF, toned. Rare early issue without convex surface on obverse.
