ITALY. P. Cornelius Lentulus Marcellinus. 50 BC. Cast Æ Medal (30mm, 11.60 g, 6h). Copying a Rome mint denarius of this moneyer. Manufactured circa 18th century. Bare head of M. Claudius Marcellus right; triskeles to left / M. Claudius Marcellus advancing right, carrying trophy into tetrastyle temple; VICS in pediment. Cf. Crawford 439/1; cf. Sydenham 1147; cf. Claudia 11 (all refs for original denarius). VF, brown and green patina, light roughness, split on edge. Unusual, especially with the addition of VICS in the pediment.
