ITALY. Divus Julius. Died 44 BC. AR Medal (23mm, 5.49 g, 6h). After Valerio Belli. Manufactured circa late 16th century. Head of Divus Julius right, wearing wreath; lituus to left; DIVI • IVLI to right / Caesar seated right, holding cornucopia and Victory; to right, Mars standing lefr on decorated altar; MAR VIC in exergue. Cf. CNG E-377, lot 696 (for obv.). Good VF, toned, surfaces lightly chased, light scratches, traces of prior mounting.
