Manufactured at the Etruria Works, Stoke-on-Trent. Scene of naval battle; PREMIERE GUERRE/PUNIQUE./A.R. 492. in three lines in exergue / Columna navalis (columna Duilia) set on base rising from waves; POUR LEMPIRE/DE L MER • in two lines in exergue. Eisler 21a (for original Æ medal); W. Chaffers, Marks and monograms on pottery and porcelain of the Renaissance and modern periods (London: 1876), p. 258 (for the Dassier series in porcelain). Good VF, small chip on edge of reverse at 6 o’clock.
