Commodus. AD 177-192. Æ Medallion (34mm, 31.43 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck AD 178. L AVREL COMM-ODVS AVG TR P III, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust left / VIRTVS AVG IMP II COS P P, Virtus standing left, holding crowning Victory and spear. The lack of “S C” on the reverse suggests this is a medallic issue, rather than a sestertius.
