Geta. As Caesar, AD 198-209. Æ As (22.5mm, 4.69 g, 12h). Contemporary Gallic imitation of Rome mint issue of AD 205. Bareheaded and draped bust right / Septimius Severus, Caracalla, and Geta seated right on platform on left; to right, officer standing left; citizen at foot of platform. For prototype, cf. RIC IV 126 and BMCRE 834. Good Fine, green patina.

According to Curtis Clay, this issue is part of a series of Gallic imitations of Roman asses, which are primarily made from Severan prototypes. These imitations are all casts, presumably made from official issues. As such, many of these, even in the British Museum, are incorrectly identified as official Roman issues (see Hunter III p. 74, n. 35).
