Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ Sestertius (29mm, 22.78 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 134-138. Bareheaded and draped bust right / Hadrian, togate, standing right, raising hand vis-à-vis Hispania standing left, holding flowering branch and sacrificing out of patera over altar; victim beside altar. RIC II 886; Banti 30. Fine, brown and dark gray surfaces.

From the Dr. Lawrence D. Sporty Collection.

Though the legend on the reverse does not reveal that this is Hispania, the key for determining that it is Hispania, is that she is holding a branch in her left hand.
