This is an unusual case of my disposing of a fine quality coin with an old provenance – acquired by the ANS before 1955 – as I had the recent good fortune to acquire an example from the collection of the Venetian librettist and classicist Apostolo Zeno – in Zeno's before 1750 – in its place.
