The Triumvirs. Mark Antony. Late summer-autumn 38 BC. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.49 g, 9h). Military mint moving with Antony in northern Syria. [ANT AVG] • III • VIR • R • P • C, bare head right / Trophy holding two oblong shields; two round shields at the base; IMP•–TER to either side. Crawford 536/4; CRI 270; Sydenham 1202; RSC 17a; Type not in RBW, but cf. RBW 1824 for similar type with a different trophy. Near VF, toned, obverse banker’s mark and graffito, light marks and scratches.
