Blümlein & Co. “Die Wacht am Rhein”: Germania standing left, holding sword and shield, guarding the Rhine / DER/RHEIN in two lines on ornamental field within ornamental border. Inside are twenty-one conjoined medallions, nineteen illustrating an individual Rhineland city; end medallion list publisher in French and German. VF, carboard case originally silvered and showing signs of age, medallions in exceptional condition. An interesting item of early Imperial Germany.
