ISLANDS off ATTICA, Aegina. Circa 525/0-500 BC. AR Stater (20.5mm, 12.08 g). Sea turtle, head in profile, with thin collar, row of dots down its back, and thin legs / Deep incuse square of “Union Jack” pattern with eight incuse segments. Asyut Group IIa; Selinus Hoard Group II; Meadows, Aegina, Group IIa; HGC 6, 428; SNG Copenhagen –; SNG Berry 749; SNG Delepierre 1522–6; SNG Lockett 1948; Dewing 1654. Near EF, toned, a few light cleaning marks under tone. Well centered on a broad flan.
