IONIA, Miletos. Circa 250-190/80 BC. AR Didrachm (25mm, 10.38 g, 1h). Persic standard. Diogenes, magistrate. Head of Apollo left, wearing laurel wreath / Lion standing left, head right; star above; to left, civic monogram (MI) above E; ΔIOΓENH[Σ] in exergue. Ashton & Kinns II, unlisted issue, but obv. die O2; Marcellesi 30 and 40; otherwise unpublished. Near EF, deep iridescent tone, some cleaning marks, flan flaw on reverse. Well centered and struck. An apparently unique didrachm for this magistrate (who is attested on Persic drachms of this issue).
