Juba II proved himself one of Rome’s most loyal client kings, and in AD 11 Augustus honored him with marriage to Kleopatra Selene, the daughter of Kleopatra VII and Mark Antony. The resulting son, Ptolemy, succeeded Juba II in AD 24, and was the last of the Ptolemaic line.
