D N IVSTINI–ANVS P P AG, helmeted and cuirassed facing bust, holding globus cruciger in right hand, shield over left shoulder / VICTORI–A AVGGG, angel standing facing, holding long staff surmounted by christogram in right hand and globus cruciger in left; star in right field; Δ//CONOB. There is some disagreement as to whether this issue belongs to Rome or Ravenna. Hahn reattributed the Paris specimen published by Morrisson (with which our coin shares a reverse die) from Ravenna to Rome, but more recently Ranieri included it in his corpus of the Ravenna mint. Our coin is stylistically close to the specimens attributed to Rome in DOC and MIBE (see especially 342-3).
