Struck circa 785-792/3. + OFFA REX +, diademed bust right / + Є ðIL VA L∂ divided by four jewel-like lobes; the inner circle contains a cross botonnée with four petals in saltire. Chick 9c = EMC 2005.0229 = Coin Register 2006, 164 (this coin); SCBI 9 (Ashmolean), 5; BMC 18 var. (rev. legend); North 310; SCBC 905. Good VF, small bend on rim, light earthern deposits, good metal. Elegant portrait. Very rare.
