NORMAN, Civil War. Empress Matilda. 1139-1148. AR Penny (21mm, 1.18 g, 5h). Oxeneford (Oxford) mint; Sweting(?), moneyer. Crowned bust right, holding lis-tipped scepter / [...]NG : ON : OXЄ[...], cross moline, with inward-facing fleur in each angle. Mack 234c = SCBI 9 (Ashmolean), 290 (same obv. die); North 936; SCBC 1326. Near VF, toned, small edge chip, wavy flan. Extremely rare.
