EGYPT, Alexandria. Hadrian, with Divus Trajan. AD 117-138. BI Tetradrachm (23mm, 12.46 g, 12h). Dated RY 2 (AD 117/118). Laureate bust right of Hadrian, slight drapery; star before / Laureate bust right of Trajan, wearing aegis; L B (date) before. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) 1247 (this coin); K&G –; RPC III 5067.4 (this coin); Emmett 899.2 (R4). VF, toned, some minor porosity. Very rare.

A very rare type, completely overlooked by the authors of K&G. RPC III lists only four specimens, including this coin. The other three examples are in the ANS and Athens collections, and Dattari 1246, now part of the John Aiello collection.
