CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS, Pantikapaion. Circa 400-390 BC. AR Diobol (12.5mm, 1.49 g). Facing head of lion / Quadripartite incuse square formed by four rays of a central star, ethnic in quarters. Frolova, frühe, Type XIV; Anokhin 984; MacDonald 19/1; HGC 7, 39. Good VF, lightly toned, a couple faint scratches on obverse, reverse slightly off center. Very rare, only four diobols known to Frolova, none in CoinArchives.
