Probus. AD 276-282. Antoninianus (22mm, 3.61 g, 7h). Rome mint, 1st officina. 1st emission, AD 276. Radiate and cuirassed bust right / Providentia standing left, holding scepter and cornucopia; globe at feet to left; XXIA. RIC V 726 (Siscia mint); Alföldi, Siscia V –; Pink VI/1, p. 54. Good VF, some original silvering remaining.


This issue was attributed to Siscia in RIC, but Pink and Alföldi placed the issue at Rome. The latter attribution was confirmed by subsequent hoard studies.
