With historical memoirs of each reign. Illustrated with twenty-four plates of coins, from the cabinet of the late Matthew Duane, F.R. and A.S. Engraved by F. Bartolozzi. (London: J. Nichols and Son for T. Payne and J. White, 1803). 420 pages, 276 plates, 8 fold-out maps. A special leather armorial-bound volume with the arms of the original owner – Charles Barclay (1780-1855) – stamped in gold on the front and back covers, as well as his bookplate inside the front cover. Very Fine condition, slight splitting along join between front cover and spine, light loss of leather, otherwise, a beautiful antiquarian copy illustrating one of the earliest collections of Seleucid coins.
