Lot of five blue-green faience tiles. Egypt, Old Kingdom, 2686-2181 BC (possibly Third Dynasty, 2686-2613 BC). Each tile with piercing on back for mounting in a central, raised area. Such pieces are frequently attributed to the Step Pyramid of Djoser and the surrounding complexes in Saqqara. Lengths: 57-61mm. Chipped in areas. Glaze a bit faded. Cf. F.
