ARCADIA, Phialia. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ Assarion (21mm, 3.89 g, 12h). Struck circa AD 198-209. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / ΦI A ΛЄωN, Athena standing left, holding patera and spear. BCD Peloponnesos 1656.1 var. (ethnic spelled with Ω rather than ω); BCD Peloponnesos II 2917 var. (same); NCP p. 107; Dura –; BMC –. Near VF, dark green to black patina, worn through at highest points. Extremely rare, and apparently an unpublished variety.
