LUCANIA, Velia. Circa 300-280 BC. AR Nomos (20mm, 7.51 g, 11h). Philistion group. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin; Δ above visor, [Φ before neck] / Lion standing right; above, pentagram between Φ and I. Williams 439 (O217/R309); HN Italy 1306; SNG Ashmolean 1327 and 1329 (same dies). Good VF, toned, a little die wear and faint cleaning marks on obverse. Well centered.
