THESSALY, Pharsalos. Late 5th-mid 4th century BC. AR Hemidrachm (14.5mm, 2.73 g, 11h). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet / [Φ-A]-P-Σ (partially retrograde), head and neck of horse right; all within incuse square with rounded corners. Cf. Lavva 126/124 (V58/R71); BCD Thessaly II 655; HGC 4, 634. Near VF, toned, some porosity and scratches, countermark on obverse.

From the BCD Collection. Ex Guy Clark FPL 11 (27 November 1996), no. 24.

Lavva appears to illustrate at least two different obverse dies under her V58 (note especially the different lengths of the scrolls in relation to the raised earflap).
