MESSENIA, Messene. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Time of Nero, AD 54-68. Æ Hemiobol or Hexachalkon (19mm, 4.26 g, 1h). Veiled and draped bust of Tyche right, wearing mural crown / Asclepius standing right, head left, leaning on serpent-entwined staff; trace of wreath to right. Grandjean 693d (D407/R611; this coin); BCD Peloponnesos 761.4 (same dies). Fine, brown patina, rough surfaces. Very rare.
