KINGS of PAEONIA. Patraos. Circa 335-315 BC. AR Tetradrachm (22.5mm, 12.46 g, 12h). Damastion or Astibos mint. Laureate head of Apollo right / Warrior on horseback rearing right, spearing fallen enemy below, holding round shield and spear; [control mark to left]. Cf. Paeonian Hoard 168 and 172–254 (same obv. die); HGC 3.1, 148. Good VF, toned, a couple test cuts on edge.

The obverse die used for this coin was one of the most extensively used for Patraos’s tetradrachms, and was always paired with a reverse with a control mark.
